ISLAMABAD; Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that the government is committed to all possible measures for the promotion of cricket and other sports in the country. The game of cricket unites the entire nation.
While congratulating Islamabad United for winning the PSL final and paying tribute to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), security forces, administration, organizers and fans for the successful organization, the Prime Minister has said that excellent competition and best sportsman spirit were seen in the entire league.
”Special thanks to international players who participated in PSL, thanks to PSL helped in reviving international cricket in Pakistan” said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif .
It should be noted that Islamabad United won the title by defeating Multan Sultans after a sensational match in the PSL final last night.
Multan Sultans gave Islamabad United a target of 160 runs to win in the final of Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 9 . Islamabad United defeated Multan Sultans by 2 wickets to become the PSL champions for the third time, while Multan Sultans have failed to win their third consecutive final.
In the final, Multan Sultans won the toss and decided to bat first against Islamabad United. Multan Sultans suffered at the opening of the batting and their first two batsmen were dismissed for just 14 runs, both dismissed by spinner Imad Wasim.
