Pak T20 World Cup 2009 winning team celebrate 15 years of triumph.
HOUSTON: Pakistan’s T20 World Cup 2009 winning team won the exhibition match by 10 runs against Knight Riders United played at invitation of owner Majid Rizvi at the Mosa Cricket Stadium in Houston.
Pakistan managed 170 in 20 overs after Younis Khan decided to bat first. Opener Kamran Akmal scored 41, Fawad Alam 48, Abdul Razzaq 37, while Shahid Afridi scored a blistering 26.
In reply, Knight Riders United’s got a good start by Nauman Anwar and Jaskaran Malhotra. Bishnoi scored a brilliant 82 runs, but KRU fell short by 10 runs. For Pakistan, Abdul Razzaq took 3 wickets , Umer gull 2 and Misbah-ul-Haq took 1.
At the end of the match, captain Younis Khan said that after 15 years, there is an opportunity to celebrate the World Cup 2009. “Very happy for the organizer Majid Rizvi,
what he is doing for the promotion of cricket in USA.” Dr. Majid Rizvi will thanking the Pakistani cricketers said that the arrival of the legends players before the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, is a welcome step which will promote cricket in the United States and attract the young generation. Majid also vowed to continue his mission in the future.
