Peshawar Division U-16 Boxing Championship Kicks Off at Peshawar Sports Complex
PESHAWAR: The Peshawar Division U-16 Boxing Championship has commenced at the Peshawar Sports Complex, featuring male and female participants from 23 registered clubs across Peshawar. The event was officially inaugurated by Muhammad Younis Pathan, a senior official from the Pakistan Boxing Federation.
Key figures present at the inauguration included Muhammad Akmal Khan Jadoon, Secretary Chairman of the Provincial Boxing Association; Khaizrullah Jan, Secretary of the Provincial Boxing Association; Mrs. Rahm Bibi, President of the Women Wing of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Boxing Association; and Ajmal Khan, Secretary of the Peshawar Division Boxing Association.
The three-day championship, organized by the Peshawar Division Boxing Association under the supervision of the Pakistan Boxing Federation and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Boxing Association, is being held at the Lala Aman Boxing Arena within the Peshawar Sports Complex.
A large number of male and female boxers have shown enthusiastic participation in the event. Weigh-ins for the participants were conducted yesterday, followed by the commencement of the regular competitions. Notably, the athletes have been rigorously preparing for the past two to three months to secure top positions in these matches.
Speaking to the media, Muhammad Akmal Khan Jadoon, President of the Provincial Boxing Association, emphasized their commitment to promoting boxing throughout Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and uncovering talent from various districts. He highlighted the importance of organizing junior championships to provide opportunities for young boxers to shine.
