India beat Pakistan by 6 runs in T20 World Cup. Pakistani batsmen failed against Indian average bowling. In the T20 World Cup,
India deprived Pakistan of a certain victory by presenting a brilliant game against Pakistan and won the event for the second time in a row.
The match between traditional rivals Pakistan and India at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York at 7:30 pm.
It was supposed to start but the toss could not be done on time due to heavy rain in and around the stadium. In the toss, Pakistan captain Babar Azam saw the coin flipping in his favor and decided to bowl first and invited India to bat. In pursuit of the target of 120 runs given by India,
Pakistan scored only 113 runs. In the match that started almost an hour late, India started batting when Rohit Sharma hit 8 sixes in Shaheen Shah Afridi’s first over.
Scored runs. The first over had just been completed when rain intervened once again in the match due to which both the teams had to return to the pavilion.
The match was stopped due to rain for almost half an hour and the match resumed. Virat Kohli hit Naseem Shah for a boundary but one ball later he gave an easy catch to Usman Khan trying to play a shot over the covers.
India had scored 19 runs in two overs, but in the third over, Rohit Sharma was also caught and returned to the pavilion in an attempt to hit another six off Shaheen, he scored 13 runs.
After two wickets fell, India sent in another left-handed batsman, Akshar Patel, to support Rishabh Pant instead of Surya Kumar at number four.
Akshar Patel managed to play a responsible game while Mojun Pant was very lucky with him who scored a lot of runs from the poor fielding of the Pakistani players and the balls hit from the outer edges of the bat.
The two players added 39 runs for the third wicket but at this stage Naseem Shah ended Akshar Patel’s 18-ball 20 to give the national team another win.
Rishabh Pant got another chance during the innings when Usman failed to catch him once again off Imad Wasim. Rishabh Pant held the second end but Haris Rauf dismissed Surya Kumar to give India their fourth loss which could only score 7 runs.
Pakistan soon got India’s fifth wicket and Naseem Shah took a catch on his own ball to end Shivam Dubey’s innings for three runs.
Pant showed some resistance with a 31-ball 42, but Amir dismissed Ravindra Jadeja on the very next ball after dismissing the wicketkeeper-batsman on the first ball of his second spell.
In the 18th over of the innings, Hardik Pandya also returned to the pavilion in an attempt to hit Haris Rauf for a six, he scored seven runs in 12 balls and on the very next ball,
Jasprit Bumrah also caught Imad Wasim without scoring any runs. When Arsdeep Singh was run out, the entire Indian team returned to the pavilion on a total of 119.
The failure of India’s batting line-up can be gauged from the fact that only three batsmen could get into double figures. On behalf of Pakistan,
Naseem and Haris took three wickets each, Amir took two wickets and Shaheen took one wicket. When Pakistan opened the innings, Mohammad Rizwan was lucky and Shivam Dubey could not take his easy catch, while in the next over, Mohammad Siraj could not hold Babar’s difficult catch on his own ball.
The openers gave Pakistan a 26-run start but Babar Azam could not capitalize on the opportunity and was caught at slip after scoring 13 off Jasprit Bumrah. Usman Khan and Muhammad Rizwan together completed the team’s half-century, but Usman, who avoided a run-out earlier,
could not take advantage of the opportunity and returned to the pavilion after scoring 13 runs off 15 balls. Fakhar Zaman tried to show dangerous ambitions by hitting sixes and fours but he lost his wicket trying to play a wrong shot off Hardik Pandya, he scored 13 runs.
Pakistan suffered a major blow when Bumrah bowled Mohammad Rizwan on the very first ball of his second spell, who scored 31 off 44 balls.
Shadab Khan also failed to help the team this time and became Hardik Pandya’s second wicket by scoring only 4 runs. Iftikhar Ahmed’s series of failures continued and
he also became Bumrah’s third wicket in the match after scoring 5 runs off 9 balls. Imad Wasim played 23 balls and the struggling all-rounder scored just 15 runs and was caught by the wicketkeeper off Arsdeep.
In the last over, Naseem Shah hit two fours, but he could not make Pakistan win and the Pakistani team could only score 113 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted overs.
India won the match by 7 wickets and secured their second consecutive win in the event. India’s Jasprit Bumrah was declared the man of the match for taking three wickets for 14 runs. Pakistan’s team consisted of these players.
Babar Azam (captain), Mohammad Rizwan (wicket keeper), Fakhrzaman, Usman Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Shadab Khan, Imad Wasim, Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah and Mohammad Amir.
