Olympic Day Celebration and HEC Intervarsity Games 2023 – 2024 Prize Distribution Ceremony

Karachi. Sports Report Iqra University celebrated International Olympic Day 2024 with a Prize Distribution Ceremony honoring the winners of the HEC Interuniversity Championship 2023 -2024.
The event also featured the Summer Sports Fiesta 2024, including competitions in Swimming, Table Tennis, and Tug of War at Iqra University Main Campus, Karachi. This event was organized in collaboration with the Sports Society, HEC, and Pakistan Olympic Association.
Professor Dr. Nassar Ikram, Vice Chancellor of Iqra University, warmly welcomed the Chief Guest, Jalaluddin Mahar, Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs, along with Guests of Honour Shahzaib Khan,
International Taekwondo Medalist for Pakistan, Javed Ali Memon, Director / In-charge Sports Higher Education Commission (HEC), and Ahmed Ali Rajput, General Secretary of the Sindh Olympic Association.
The event was attended by District Sports Officers, Directors/Incharge of Sports from Universities and Colleges in Karachi, as well as students, staff, and faculty of Iqra University, gathered to celebrate sports, health, and unity.
Dr. Syed Sheraz ul Hasan Mohani, Director of Sports, Iqra University, delivered a welcoming address highlighting the Sports Department’s achievements during the 2023-2024 academic year.
He expressed gratitude to Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Nassar Ikram and Javed Ali Memon for their unwavering support and dedication to both the university and the sports department.
The distinguished guests commended Iqra University for its athlete -friendly policies, exceptional campus sports facilities, and proactive promotion of sports activities.
The Chief Guest presented trophies and medals to the winners of the Summer Sports Fiesta Tournament and awarded cash prizes of Rs. 35,000/-, Rs. 25,000/-, and Rs. 20,000/- to the medalists of the HEC Interuniversity Games 2023-2024. The event concluded with a vote of thanks and a group photograph.
