PHF Cracks Down on Unauthorized Hockey Academies
Lahore: In a decisive move to streamline and regulate hockey in Pakistan, the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has issued a directive clarifying the role of clubs and academies within the sport’s framework.
The directive, issued by PHF Secretary General Muhammad Asif Bajwa,
aims to address the proliferation of unauthorized hockey academies operating outside the PHF’s constitution. The document emphasizes that only registered hockey clubs, affiliated with their respective district hockey associations, are recognized entities under the PHF.
To ensure transparency and accountability, the directive also mandates that the hiring of foreign coaches must be approved by both the PHF and the Government of Pakistan.
With this directive, the PHF seeks to establish a clear and structured environment for hockey development in Pakistan, paving the way for a brighter future for the sport.
