Azadi Marathon will be biggest marathon in the history of Punjab province:

LAHORE (August 7, 2024): Director General Sports Punjab Pervez Iqbal said that the upcoming Azadi Marathon will be biggest marathon in the history of Punjab province; he said this during his visit to Liberty Chowk where he inspected the arrangements for Azadi Marathon and Family Fun Race here on Wednesday.

Director General Sports Punjab Pervez Iqbal was accompanied by Director Admin M Kaleem, Director Sports Yasmeen Akhtar, Deputy Director Zahoor Ahmed, Chief Sports Consultant Hafeez Bhatti and other officials during his visit.

During his visit, DG Sports Punjab Pervez Iqbal reviewed the registration process of athletes at the registration booth established at the Liberty Chowk.

Talking on this occasion, Director General Sports Punjab Pervez Iqbal said that more than 5,000 male and female athletes are participating in Azadi Marathon. “Apart from Punjab, the athletes from other provinces will also participate in the Azadi Marathon,” he added.

Director General Sports Punjab Pervez Iqbal further said that top standard arrangements are being made for Azadi Marathon and Family Fun Race scheduled to be organized August 11 at 7.00am. “A large number of young girls and women will also participate in Azadi Marathon and Family Fun races,” DG Sports Punjab elaborated.
