As a gift of Independence Day, Pakistan’s military and all political leaders are happy for Arshad Nadeem winning the first gold medal for Pakistan after 40 years in the Paris Olympics and congratulated the nation including Arshad Nadeem.
As a journalist I salute Arshad Nadeem, there are no words to describe his great achievement. Congratulations to Arshad Nadeem, his family and the entire nation. Arshad Nadeem is an inspiration to millions of people.
In my meeting with Arshad Nadeem a few months ago, he was hopeful of a medal in the Olympic Games. When I asked him about his difference with other international athletes, he replied with a smile and said that the answer is in the stadium. It will be given and he has done it.
Pakistan Army Public Relations (ISPR) has congratulated the nation including Arshad Nadeem for winning the first gold medal for Pakistan after 40 years in the Paris Olympics.
According to ISPR, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and Chiefs of Pakistan Army Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Sidhu and Naval Chief Admiral Naveed for winning the first gold medal for Pakistan in the Olympics after 40 years. According to ISPR, Arshad Nadeem made history by becoming the first Pakistani athlete to win an individual gold medal.
ISPR said that the success in the Olympics is a testament to Arshad Nadeem’s tireless work, perseverance and exemplary work. In the final of the men’s javelin throw event at the Paris Olympics, the eyes of the entire nation were on Arshad Nadeem, who was Pakistan’s only hope for a medal in the Olympics after 32 years.
It may be noted that the last time Pakistan stepped on the Olympics medal podium was on August 8, 1992 when the national hockey team won the bronze medal by defeating the Netherlands by four goals to three in the Barcelona Olympics.

After the great congratulatory messages of Pakistan’s military and political leadership, Federal Minister for Law Nazir Tarar presented a resolution to pay tribute to Arshad Nadeem in the National Assembly, which was approved. Yes, Arshad Nadeem proved that lack of resources and difficulties in the way cannot stop the way.
In the resolution, it is stated that this House also respects the previous achievement of Arshad Nadeem, this House recommends that President Asif Zardari confer Civil Award on Arshad Nadeem.

The Punjab Chief Minister said in a statement that Arshad Nadeem won a gold medal and gifted the nation with a gold medal. Punjab Chief Minister also announced the construction of a sports city named after Arshad Nadeem. Earlier, the Sindh government gave 5 crores to Arshad Nadeem.
