Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Table Tennis Association Elects New Leadership for Four-Year Term
PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Table Tennis Association has successfully conducted its elections, resulting in the formation of a new cabinet that will serve for the next four years.
Sartajuddin has been elected as President, while Ahmed Nawaz Malizai has been appointed Secretary General, and Shahzad Islam will serve as Finance Secretary.
The General Council meeting of the Provincial Table Tennis Association took place yesterday in the conference room of the PSB Coaching Center in Peshawar, attracting a large number of officials from various district
associations across the province. During the meeting, the performance of the outgoing cabinet was reviewed and deemed satisfactory, with many congratulating them for their efforts in promoting table tennis in the province.
The election of new officials for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Table Tennis Association was carried out with overwhelming support. Muhammad Asim was elected as Chairman, Sartaj Ud din as President, and Kifayatullah Khan as Senior Vice President. Among the Vice Presidents are Samiullah Marwat from Nowshera,
Azhar Ahmad from Swat, and Kamran from Peshawar, Mrs. Nighat Yousufi, Kiran Musharraf. Additionally, Ahmed Nawaz Malizai from DI Khan were elected as Secretary General,
while Shahid Mughal from Abbottabad will serve as Senior Associate Secretary. Other officials include Lady Associate Secretary Amna Mehmood from Peshawar, Lady Associate Secretary Saira, Associate Secretary Bashir Ahmed, and Finance Secretary Shahzad Islam from Swabi. Muhammad Salman Khan has been appointed as the Public Relations Officer.
Dr. Chaudhry Javed Aslam will serve as the Chairman of the Executive Committee, with members including Ayub Bangash, Engineer Zahid, Jamal Shah, and Darnayab from the merged tribal districts.
Notably, during the elections, officials from all districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa voted in favor of the new cabinet, with only the representatives from Kohat and Mardan opposing the decision. The representative from District Swat was disqualified due to his position as President of the Swat Division Teqball Association.
Among the distinguished attendees were Masood Ali, representing the Pakistan Table Tennis Association, Amina Mehmood from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Directorate, and Khalid Noor, the Senior Vice President of the Provincial Karate Association and a presidential award-winning international karate player and coach.
In their addresses, newly elected President Sartajuddin and Secretary General Ahmad Nawaz Malizai highlighted the importance of resources for nurturing talent in table tennis,
stating that the province is rich in talent but lacking in support. They expressed their commitment to promoting the sport and discovering new talent at the grassroots level.
They emphasized that no sport can thrive without government backing and sponsorship, urging the private sector to invest in sports beyond cricket to ensure overall development.
Furthermore, they announced plans to organize a training camp for children from educational institutions and junior players from the table tennis academy, with details to be announced next week
