Scheduled Karachi Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh shifted to Rawalpindi

The second Test match scheduled between Pakistan and Bangladesh between August 30 and September 3 in Karachi has been shifted to Rawalpindi. In a statement issued by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB),

it was said that the two Test matches of the home series will now be played in Rawalpindi. According to the schedule, the first Test will start from August 21 and the second Test from August 30.

The reason for the transfer is the construction work for Champions Trophy 2025 at National Bank Stadium Karachi. According to PCB, this decision has been taken after consultation with construction experts, all stakeholders were consulted.

It should be clear that a few days earlier, the PCB had said that the second Test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh to be played in Karachi will be played without spectators.

The statement said this was in preparation for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This difficult decision has been taken due to the construction work,

we value our valued fans but their health and safety is important to us, this construction work is to bring the stadium to the best possible conditions for the ICC Champions Trophy.

PC B had said that the sale of Karachi Test tickets has been suspended, and those who have bought tickets will be refunded.

It may be recalled that the selectors have opted to go with an all-pace attack in the first Test of the ICC World Test Championship starting Wednesday, August 21, against Bangladesh at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Bangladesh and Pakistan cricket teams participated in the practice session at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Both teams were engaged in bowling and batting practice after the physical fitness.

It has been announced in which 5 fast bowlers have been included. In the squad announced by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), Taskin Ahmed, who suffered from a shoulder injury, has also been included in the squad,

but he will only play in the second Test match. Taskeen Ahmed will be available for the match against Bangladesh A who are touring Pakistan and will be struggling against Pakistan A. BCB Chief Selector Gazi Ashraf Hussain said in his statement that Taskeen Ahmed Hasn’t played a Test match since June last year,

so we have decided to make him a part of the team for the four-day match against Pakistan A so that he can get rhythm for the Test match.

Mushfiqur Rahim has been included in the 16-member squad. The chief selector said that Mushfiq, Mominul Haque and Shakibul Hasan in the squad have a total of 216 Test matches and there is no substitute for this experience.

Bangladesh team Ahead of the tense situation in the country, team arrived in Pakistan a few days before for training to prepare for the series in Pakistan before test series.

The Bangladesh squad for the series consists of these players. , Mahmoodul Hasan Joy, Zakir Hasan, Shadman Islam, Mominul Haq, Mushfiqul Rahim, Shakibul Hasan, Latin Das, Mehdi Hasan Miraz, Tejul Islam, Naeemul Hasan, Naheed Rana, Shariful Islam, Hasan Mahmood, Tasin Ahmed and Syed Khalid Ahmed.

It may be noted that the Pakistan selectors have included Abrar Ahmed in the Pakistan Shaheens squad instead of benching him in the Test so that he can get some match practice before the second Test starting on August 30.

Top-order batsman Kamran Ghulam is the second player who has been released from the Pakistan Test team and has also been appointed captain while retaining him in the Pakistan Shaheens team. In the first four-day match against Bangladesh A, Pakistan Shaheens captain was Saud Shakeel.

The Pakistan Test squad will now consist of 15 players but after the conclusion of the second four-day match when Abrar Ahmed and Kamran Ghulam will join the squad again for the second Test.

Shah, Saeem Ayub, Sarfaraz Ahmed and Saud Shakeel have now joined the Test team. For the second four-day match, these eight players have been replaced by Abrar Ahmed,

Ali Zaryab, Owais Anwar, Imamul Haq, Niaz Khan, Qasim Akram, Rohail Nazir and Shiroon Siraj have been added.

In the Pakistan Shaheens squad for the second four day, Kamran Ghulam (captain), Abrar Ahmed, Ali Zaryab, Ghulam Mudassar, Imamul Haq, Mehran Mumtaz, Muhammad Owais Anwar, Niaz Khan, Qasim Akram, Rohail Nazir (wicket keeper) Saad Baig (wicket Keeper) includes Saad Khan, Sharon Siraj and Umar Amin.
