A Grand Four-Day Independence Day Sports Festival Successfully Organized
Competitions were held at Karachi University and Deva Academy

The Independence Day Sports Festival was organized by the Pakistan Sports Education and Cultural Council, in collaboration with the Directorate of Physical Education, Karachi University, and Dewa Academy.
The festival, held on the occasion of Pakistan’s Independence Day, included competitions in Badminton (Girls), Football Tennis, Bocce Volo, Traditional Ludo, and Archery.
Teams from Karachi University, Federal Urdu University, and various academies participated enthusiastically in the events.
The opening ceremony was held at Deva Academy, with Rizwan Ahmed Lodhi, Director of Dewa Trust, as the chief guest. On the occasion, he stated that Dewa Trust has been actively supporting the promotion of sports for the past 14 years.
He mentioned that many teams trained under their guidance have won medals in international competitions, and their support will continue in the future.
The girls’ badminton matches were held at Karachi University. Areeba won the girls’ singles final, while Zobia and Darakhta secured the doubles final. Muhammad Imran served as the organizing secretary, and Mazhar and Ahad were the officials.
The Bocce Volo doubles event was won by Shiza Peerzada and Roshna. In Football Tennis, the Hunza Tigers emerged victorious, with Muhammad Zubair as the organizing secretary and Kamal Hussain as the official. Notable performances were given by Ajlaluddin, Rehmat Shah, Asif Ayaan, Zohair Ali Lodhi, Khawar Ahmed,
Danish Shah, Farhan, Hanzala, Hassan, Azeem, Athar Hussain, Javed, and Rizwan, while in the girls’ category, Kanwal, Alisha, Aneesa, Mehak, and Soumia displayed excellent skills.
The organizing secretary was Muhammad Ali, and the referees were Abbas, Haroon, and Aun Ali Shah. The Ludo final was won by the team of Huma Siddiqui and Fiza Batool.
On the final day, the chief guests, Rashid Qureshi (Director of Physical Education, University of Karachi) and Muhammad Saleem, distributed trophies and awards to the winning teams and players.
In his speech, the chief guest mentioned that organizing sports events on national days is a commendable initiative, as it not only provides youth with the opportunity to engage in physical activities but also raises awareness about the significance of our national days.
In conclusion, event organizer Syed Asrar-ul-Hasan Abidi thanked all the guests and announced that such events would continue to be organized in the future.
He emphasized that the youth are the ones who will bring glory to the nation, like Arshad Nadeem. Last year, the same young athletes, who received this training, performed exceptionally well in international competitions and reached the quarter-finals.
This time, they have worked even harder, and with the help of international coaches, who were engaged through self-help, we hope that our teams will reach the finals.
The organizers of the festival included Nuzhat Sultana, Maryam Khawar, Hamid Aqeel, Shuja Lodhi, Sadaf, Shabana, Atir Wali Khan, Waseemuddin, and Ziauddin Siddiqui.
