1st Test: Pakistan 158 runs for 4 wickets against Bangladesh…

Rawalpindi: Thanks to the responsible batting of Saeem Ayub and Saud Shakeel, Pakistan scored 158 runs for the loss of 4 wickets on the first day of the rain-affected first Test match against Bangladesh.

The first Test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh in Rawalpindi was delayed due to a wet outfield. The match was scheduled to start at 10 am, but early morning rainfall of up to 10 mm was recorded in and around the stadium due to which the ground became wet,

the match officials inspected the ground and the toss was delayed due to wet outfield. Later, after inspection by the officials, there was a toss which Bangladesh decided to field first after winning toss.

The first day’s play started at 2:30 PM, while due to time loss, it was decided to play only 48 overs instead of 90 on the first day.

At the start of the game, the visiting team got their first success when Abdullah Shafiq got out by scoring 2 runs. After him, captain Shan Masood also returned to the pavilion after scoring only 6 runs, while Babar Azam got out without making any runs.

By losing 16 runs three wickets, the Pakistani team was in dire straits and at this stage Saud Shakeel came to support young Saeem Ayub and both of them started batting. Both players played a responsible game and put on a 98-run partnership for the fourth wicket, while Saim also completed the first half-century of his Test career.

Bangladesh got their fourth win when Saim’s knock of 56 after the water break was ended by Hasan Mehmood. Saud Shakeel was then joined by Mohammad Rizwan and the duo took the score to 158 without further loss by the end of the day.

When it was decided to end the game prematurely due to bad light, Pakistan had scored 158 runs for the loss of 4 wickets, Saud Shakeel 57 and Mohammad Rizwan 24 runs at the wicket.

Hasan Mehmood and Shariful Islam took two wickets each for Bangladesh. It should be noted that Pakistan is currently ranked sixth in the ICC World Test Championship, it has played two series in the championship, it won by 2 nil against Sri Lanka and against Australia by 3-0. Defeat was faced.

Pakistan will play 9 Test matches in this season which is their busiest Test season since 1998-99, 7 of them will be played in Pakistan including two against Bangladesh in October, three against England and next.

Earlier, Saud Shakeel scored the most runs in the first 11 innings of the Test. He also broke the record, who added 720 runs in the first 11 innings, breaking Javed Miandad’s record of 645 runs.

Saud Shakeel scored 738 runs in the first 11 innings, he is also the batsman who scored the most runs in the first 6 Tests after Sunil Gavaskar and Don Bradman. He was given the vice-captaincy in his 11th Test match before the series against.

Saud Shakeel also broke Abdullah Shafiq’s record of scoring the most runs in the first 11 innings of a Test, breaking Javed Miandad’s record of 645 runs and adding 720 runs in the first 11 innings.
