Over 1700 Athletes Register for KP Marathon Race

Peshawar , A massive turnout of athletes is expected for the upcoming marathon race organized by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Directorate. Over 1700 athletes from across Pakistan have already registered to participate in the event, which will take place on September 6th, starting from the Chamkani Business Center.
According to Jamshed Khan, the Deputy Director of Operations at the Sports Directorate, most of the registered athletes are from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. While female athletes have shown interest, the race is currently only open to male participants.
The registration process will commence at 7 PM on September 6th at the Chamkani BRT Business Center, and the race itself will begin at 9:30 PM. The marathon is expected to conclude at the Tatara Station, followed by a closing ceremony at the Hayatabad Sports Complex.
The top 20 athletes from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be awarded prizes by sports advisors at the closing ceremony. Approximately 150 technical officials will be involved in overseeing the event, which is being organized with the support of the Pakistan Athletics Federation.
To ensure a smooth running of the race, strict protocols have been put in place. Only technical officials will be allowed to access the BRT station to witness the 25 km race.
Media personnel will be restricted to covering the event from outside the BRT stations and will be granted access only at the Chamkani Business Center and Hayatabad Sports Complex.
