Volleyball Players Find New Home at Tariq Wawood Badminton Hall
Peshawar, Pakistan: Despite facing financial hurdles, volleyball players from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have resumed their training thanks to the efforts of the sports directorate.
After being expelled from the Pakistan Sports Board gymnasium due to increased fees, the players have found a new home at the ground next to the Tariq Wadood Badminton Hall.
The ground, previously occupied by a private gym, was reclaimed by the sports directorate to accommodate the volleyball players. The decision came in response to the players’ financial difficulties and the lack of suitable training facilities in the province.
Under the guidance of coach Wasif Khan, the players are training daily from 3 pm to 6 pm. The turf ground ensures that practice can continue even during the rainy season, providing a much-needed solution for the dedicated athletes.
The sports directorate’s decision to prioritize the volleyball players’ training is a significant step towards supporting the development of the sport in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
With the availability of a suitable training ground, the players can now focus on improving their skills and aspiring to represent the province and the country at the highest level.
