Pakistani youth players achieved another international title when 12 years old Bilal Asher won the 2nd International Youth Scrabble Championship organized by HHS school
The online event was played under strict surveillance and monitored by a team of 20 experts
12 year old Bilal dominated the event from the start and won the tournament with 9 wins from ten games
Highlight of his win was when he beat the defending champion Madhav Kamath in an exciting Pakistan-India final. This is Bilal’s second title in just over a month as he won the under-14 world title in Sri Lanka last month
13 year old Aehzam Siddiqui was the runner up and the immensely improved Ibrahim Mansoor finished 3rd to demonstrate Pakistan’s complete dominance of the championship
The reigning world youth champion Affan Salman finished 5th after several defeats against compatriots
The championship featured about 90 players from ten countries including USA, Australia, New Zealand, Nigeria, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Malaysia, Philippines and Pakistan
Pakistan team will now participate in the Asia Cup to be played in New Delhi, India in November
