Pakistan qualified for the final of the Hong Kong Super Sixes Pakistan defeated Australia by four wickets after a thrilling encounter.
In the semi-final of the event being played in Hong Kong, Pakistan team captain Faheem Ashraf won the toss and invited Australia to bat first. Australia scored 107 runs in the allotted 6 overs, Daniel Christian of Australia scored 42 runs and Jack Wood scored 36 runs.
In the second semi-final, Sri Lanka defeated Bangladesh by 3 wickets, Sri Lanka achieved the target of 104 runs with 3 wickets before one ball.
Earlier, Pakistan defeated South Africa by 17 runs in the quarter-finals of the Hong Kong Super Sixes to reach the semi-finals. In the quarter finals, Pakistan scored 105 runs in 6 overs while playing first, Muhammad Akhlaq played an innings of 53 runs off 16 balls.
In reply, the South African team could only score 88 runs in 6 overs, Hussain Talat of Pakistan took two wickets. Pakistan achieved the target in the last over thanks to Asif Ali’s aggressive innings of 32 runs off 8 balls and Akhlaq Ahmed’s 32 runs off 10 balls. Captain Faheem Ashraf played an innings of 19 runs.
