Pakistan cricket team has become the first team in the world to play 250 T20 International matches. Pakistan has won 144 out of 250 matches while losing 95. 4 matches were also tied, of which 3 were decided by Super Over and one by Ball Out, out of which the national team lost 3 and won one.
Apart from this, 7 matches also proved to be inconclusive. India is second in the list of the team that has played the most T20 matches, having played 242 matches.
Pakistan cricket team’s young spinner Sufyan Muqim broke the 15-year-old record of former fast bowler Umar Gul by making a historic performance in T20 Internationals.
In the second match of the 3-match series, Pakistan performed brilliantly and defeated Zimbabwe by 10 wickets and took a decisive 2-0 lead in the series, while the host team, who batted first, was bundled out for just 57 runs due to the national team’s disastrous bowling.
In the second match of the 3-match series, Zimbabwe won the toss and decided to bat against Pakistan, which proved to be wrong and they had difficulty facing the visiting team from the beginning.
Both Zimbabwean openers, Brain Brainett 21 and Toddy Vanashe Maromani, were able to enter double figures by scoring 16 runs. The players who came after them had a shorter stay on the wicket than those who lost wickets early.
The Zimbabwean team was bowled out for 57 runs in 12.4 overs. This is Zimbabwe’s lowest score in a T20 International.
Sufyan Muqim bowled brilliantly for the national team and took 5 wickets for just 3 runs in 2.4 overs, the best performance by any Pakistani player in the shortest format of cricket.
The young spinner achieved this feat in the seventh match of his career. Before him, Umar Gul had dismissed 5 players for 6 runs in 2009 and 2013.
The second T20 of the series against Zimbabwe was Pakistan’s 250th T20 International match overall. Apart from them, Abbas Afridi took 2 wickets, Haris Rauf and Abrar Ahmed took one wicket each.
The Pakistani batsmen achieved the modest target without any loss, with openers Umair Yousuf scoring 22 and Saim Ayub remaining unbeaten on 33, helping Pakistan chase down the target of 57, defeating the hosts by 10 wickets and clinching the three-match series 2-0. Sufyan Muqeem was adjudged the man of the match for his historic bowling performance.
