PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi commends blind cricket team’s World Cup victory with generous rewards

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi celebrated the remarkable triumph of the national blind cricket team, who clinched the T20 Blind Cricket World Cup title.
At a grand ceremony held at the National Cricket Academy, Naqvi presented the team with a PKR 10 million cash prize and announced an additional PKR 20 million grant for the Pakistan Blind Cricket Association.
Addressing the team and dignitaries, Naqvi hailed the blind cricket team’s extraordinary efforts and congratulated them on bringing glory to Pakistan. “This victory is a monumental achievement for Pakistan. You have illuminated our nation’s name globally, and the entire country takes pride in your success,” he remarked.
The PCB chief also acknowledged the leadership of team captain Nisar Ali and Blind Cricket Association Chairman Sultan Shah, praising their pivotal roles in the victory.
Naqvi reiterated PCB’s commitment to fully supporting the blind cricket team, ensuring they have access to the resources needed to continue excelling. “The blind cricket team is a source of immense pride for us, and we will provide all possible assistance to help you achieve more historic feats,” he added.
Team captain Nisar Ali expressed heartfelt gratitude for the recognition, stating, “We deeply appreciate the respect and acknowledgment given to us. This support strengthens our resolve to achieve more for Pakistan.” Sultan Shah also thanked Naqvi, emphasizing that the grant would enhance blind cricket infrastructure and pave the way for future success.
The event was attended by prominent figures, including PCB advisors Aamir Mir and Wahab Riaz, former cricketer Azhar Ali, and directors of domestic and international cricket.
Players and officials of the blind cricket team were present, making the occasion a celebration of unity and achievement.
Naqvi’s closing remarks highlighted the significance of supporting blind cricket in Pakistan. “Your achievements have brought joy to the nation. We will continue to stand by you, ensuring your needs are met so you can conquer even greater challenges ahead,” he said.
