Pakistan Powerlifting Team Dominates Asian Powerlifting Championship 2024,
Bags 12 Gold Medals
Tashkent, Uzbekistan – The Pakistani powerlifting team continues to make waves at the Asian Powerlifting Championship 2024, with its athletes achieving unprecedented success on the international stage. After Asim Shezad’s outstanding performance in the 66-kg Masters-1 category, where he secured four gold medals,
two more Pakistani powerlifters, Dr. Adnan in the Masters-1/120 kg class and Ather Kamran Butt in the Masters-2/120 kg class, have added to the nation’s glory by each winning four gold medals, bringing Pakistan’s total to 12 gold medals so far.
Arshad Khan, Team Manager and Senior Vice President of the Pakistan Powerlifting Federation, expressed his pride in the team’s performance, stating, “Pakistan is shining at the top of the powerlifting world under the banner of the International Powerlifting Federation (IPLF). Our athletes are demonstrating exceptional skill, strength, and determination, proving that Pakistan is a force to be reckoned with.”
Arshad Khan also highlighted the anticipation surrounding the upcoming competition of Nooh Dastgir Butt, who will participate in the +120 kg Open Classic Championship on December 10, 2024. He shared, “Nooh Dastgir Butt has the potential to create history.
We believe he will not only secure gold medals but also establish himself as a super champion. His victory will be pivotal in helping us secure the prestigious Team Trophy.”
He further appealed to the nation, saying, “I urge the people of Pakistan to pray for our entire team, especially for Nooh Dastgir Butt. Your prayers and support are crucial for our athletes to achieve their dreams and bring pride to the country.”
