Asian Powerlifting Championship: Nooh Dastgir Butt creates new history
TASHKENT, UZBEKISTAN – Pakistan’s powerlifting sensation, Nooh Dastgir Butt, has made history by winning his first gold medal at the Asian Powerlifting Championship, currently underway in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Butt, a Pride of Performance and Commonwealth Gold Medalist, lifted an impressive 400 kg in the squat event, setting a new Asian record in the process.
The Pakistani powerlifting community is ecstatic about Butt’s achievement, and his fans are eagerly awaiting his performances in the next two events – bench press and deadlift.
Butt, who is considered one of the top contenders for the overall championship title, is hopeful of winning more medals and making his country proud.
“I’m thrilled to have won the gold medal in the squat event, and I’m looking forward to giving my best in the next two events,” Butt said in a statement.
“I would like to thank my coaches, family, and friends for their support and encouragement. I would also like to thank the Pakistan Powerlifting Federation for providing me with the opportunity to participate in this prestigious championship.”
