Albarka Bank 9th National Road Cycling Championship Rescheduled and Inaugurated in Islamabad

Islamabad, February 21, 2025 – The Albarka Bank 9th National Road Cycling Championship was officially inaugurated today by Syed Azhar Ali Shah, President of the Pakistan Cycling Federation (PCF),

at Iran Avenue, Islamabad. Originally scheduled for February 20, the event was postponed due to heavy rain and commenced today under clear skies and pleasant weather, offering scenic views of the capital.

The championship features 130 male and female cyclists representing four provincial teams—Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,Gilgit-Baltistan, IBex club Gilgit-Baltistan and Balochistan—along with teams from Islamabad, SSGC, POF Wah, and Bikestan Cycling Academy.

Men’s Elite 112 KM Race Results ; 

The highlight of the day was the Men’s Elite 112 KM road race, which showcased thrilling competition among the country’s top cyclists.

Gold Medalist: Ali Ilyas (SSGC) – 3 hours, 1 minute, and 37 seconds (Average speed: 37 km/h)

Silver Medalist: Umar Farooq (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa)

Bronze Medalist: Mohammad Shan (SSGC)

The championship continues with more exciting races and competitions in the coming days, bringing together the best of Pakistan’s cycling talent.
