The match between Pakistan and Bangladesh was called off due to continuous rain in Rawalpindi. India and New Zealand have qualified for the semi-finals from Group A of the Champions Trophy,

while Pakistan and Bangladesh have been eliminated from the event after losing two matches each. Due to the cancellation of the Champions Trophy 2025 match in Rawalpindi, both were given one point each.

The match was scheduled to start at 2 pm Pakistani time, but due to intermittent rain in Rawalpindi since night, water was accumulated on the ground and even the toss of the match was not possible.

The Bangladesh team had canceled the practice session on Wednesday because the ground conditions were not suitable.

The Champions Trophy 2025 proved to be a disappointing event for the hosts Pakistan on their own soil. After a 60-run defeat to New Zealand in the tournament opener in Karachi, a six-wicket defeat to India in Dubai

effectively eliminated them from the semi-final race. Bangladesh also started their campaign with a defeat when they defeated the Bengal Tigers by six wickets.

New Zealand then secured a five-wicket win to ensure India and New Zealand a place in the semi-finals. A day earlier, Afghanistan defeated England in a thrilling Group B match to knock them out of the mega event. Batting first, Afghanistan posted their highest-ever total in an ICC Men’s ODI tournament.

Ibrahim Zadran made the highest individual score in Champions Trophy history (177). Joe Root tried his best to hold England back but the Afghan bowlers put up a fine performance.

Azmatullah Umarzai was the standout performer with a brilliant bowling spell of 5/58. Following this result, England is out of the semi-final race, while Afghanistan has now joined Australia and South Africa in the semi-final race.
