Pakistan Lost 4th T20 Against New Zealand

New Zealand defeated Pakistan in the fourth match of the five-match T20 series to clinch the series.

Chasing a target of 221 runs set by New Zealand, Pakistan’s entire team was bowled out for 105 runs in 16.2 overs. The host team won the match by 115 runs and also clinched the series.

Earlier, in the match being played at the Bay Oval Cricket Stadium in Mount Maunganui, Pakistan won the toss and decided to field.

Pakistan’s start in chasing the target was extremely disappointing, with opener Muhammad Haris 2, Hassan Nawaz, captain Salman Ali Agha, Shadab Khan and Abbas Afridi returning to the pavilion after scoring just one run each.

Khushdil Shah, Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf were dismissed for 6 runs each, Irfan Khan Niazi scored 24 runs. Abdul Samad was dismissed for 44 runs while Abrar Ahmed remained not out with one run.

For New Zealand, Jacob Duffy took 4 wickets, Zachary Foulkes took 3 wickets, while Will O’Rourke, James Neesham and Ish Sodhi took one wicket each.

Openers Tim Seifert and Finn Allen gave the team an aggressive start, but Seifert lost his wicket after scoring 44 runs. Later, Finn Allen was dismissed after playing an innings of 50 runs off 19 balls.

Other players included Mark Chapman (24), James Neesham (3), and Mitchell Haye (3), while Daryl Mitchell (29) was the guest. In the closing overs of the match, captain Michael Bracewell played an innings of 46 runs off 26 balls. For Pakistan, Haris Rauf took 3 wickets, Abrar took 2 wickets, and Abbas Afridi took one wicket.
