Doha, Qatar – The much-anticipated Global Celebrity League (GCL) hosted a spectacular Curtain Raiser event, marking the official countdown to a thrilling season of cricket featuring legendary players and global showbiz icons.
The prestigious event was graced by His Excellency Sheikh Saoud Abdullah Al Thani, Chairman of GCL who emphasized the league’s significance in promoting cricket in Qatar. GCL President Arif Malik outlined the league’s vision and shared ambitious plans for the development of cricket in the region.
A key highlight of the evening was the unveiling of team jerseys for the five participating teams representing Pakistan, India, Qatar, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan. Notably, Fireox franchise owner Waqas Alvi secured the Pakistan franchise, adding to the tournament’s global stature.
Adding to the excitement, former Pakistan cricket star Imran Nazir officially joined Global Celebrity League, bringing his experience and star power to the competition. The biggest announcement of the night, however was the legendary Boom Boom Shahid Afridi (Lala) joining GCL as the Brand Ambassador, further elevating the league’s profile.
