Servis Tyres Punjab Open Tennis Championship 2025 serves off in style

Lahore (April 5, 2025) — The Servis Tyres Punjab Open Tennis Championship 2025 was formally inaugurated in a vibrant ceremony at the Punjab Tennis Academy, Bagh-e-Jinnah, Lahore, on Saturday.

The tournament was officially opened by Mr. Rashid Malik (Tamgha-e-Imtiaz), Senior Executive Vice President of the Punjab Lawn Tennis Association (PLTA), who graced the occasion as the chief guest. The colorful ceremony was also attended by Mr. Waqar Nisar, Finance Secretary of PLTA, and Mr. Faheem Siddiqui, the Tournament Coordinator.

The championship began with a high-octane day of tennis as over 24 matches were contested across various categories. Spectators witnessed top-notch performances and a high standard of play, as leading contenders comfortably cruised into the second round.

In the men’s singles qualifying round, Adnan Sardar defeated Kashif Ansari 6-2, while Waleed Shah outplayed Haroon Zahid 6-3. Advancing through the second qualifying round, Musa Haroon overcame Ayan Ali Qadir 6-2, Akmal Ali edged past Waheed 6-4, Muteeb ur Rehman defeated Adnan Sardar 6-3, and Waleed Shah blanked Touseef Ali 6-0.

In the main draw men’s singles matches showcased some dominant performances. Heera Ashiq dismantled Muteeb ur Rehman 6-0, Hassan Kamran edged Shehroze Malik 7-5, Sikandar Hayat breezed past Talha Khan 6-0, and Hamza Ali Rizwan outplayed Aayaz Khan 6-2. Other notable victories included Musa Haroon defeating Abbas Malik Watoo 6-1, Imran Bhatti thrashing Waleed Shah 6-0, Hammad beating Asad Ahmad 6-2, and Dr Arif overcoming Razzak Ahsan 6-2.

In the ladies singles first round, Hajra Sohail was dominant in her 8-0 win over Sania Zahra, while Ayesha Shahid dispatched Sania Alvi with an 8-1 scoreline. In the boys U-18 category, M Umar Ali beat Shabie ul Hassan 6-3, and Hamza Ali Rizwan defeated Ohad-e-Mustafa 6-2.

Meanwhile, the boys U-14 division witnessed exciting clashes. Aaliyan Ali beat Ashtar Alam Khan 6-3, Ohad-e-Mustafa triumphed over Zayd Mansoor 6-2, Shahzain Faisal overwhelmed Daniyal Afzal Malik 6-0, and M Ayan Khan registered a dominant 6-0 win against M Umar Ali.
