Karachi: National Padel Championship Kicks Off Under Pakistan Padel Federation
Sindh Whites and Rallay Rebels shine in Women’s Category;
Allah Wala and Zain Rehan teams dominate Men’s Category
KARACHI : The National Padel Championship, organized by the Pakistan Padel Federation under the umbrella of International Padel Federation & Asia Padel, has officially commenced in Karachi.
The event was inaugurated by the President of the Pakistan Padel Federation, Muhammad Mateen, who cut the ceremonial ribbon to mark the beginning of the tournament.
Also present at the opening ceremony were Senior Vice President Mudassir Arain, Director of the Championship’s Technical Committee Syed Rehanuddin and other officials.
In the Women’s Category, Sindh Whites secured a decisive 6-2 victory over Islamabad Whites, while Rally Rebels also recorded a 6-2 win against Power Slayers. In the Men’s Category, Allah Wala defeated Team Sindh with a clean sweep of 6-0, and Team Zain Rehan registered a commanding 6-0 win over Cherry Popped.
Speaking at the event, Muhammad Mateen said that significant efforts are being made to promote the sport of padel across the country. “The National Championship offers an excellent platform for athletes to showcase their talent,” he stated. He further emphasized the federation’s commitment to supporting young players and providing them with opportunities to excel.
Senior Vice President Mudassir Arain added that the tournament will help identify grassroots-level talent, which will aid in forming a national team for the upcoming international competitions in Saudi Arabia.
Participants expressed their enthusiasm and appreciation for the championship, noting that such tournaments not only allow them to demonstrate their skills but also prepare them to compete on the global stage and bring pride to the country.
The Mixed, Quarterfinal, and Semifinal matches of the championship are scheduled to take place today.
