PSL 10: Lahore Qalandars defeat Quetta Gladiators

  Rawalpindi : Lahore Qalandars defeat Quetta Gladiators In the fourth match of the tenth edition of the Pakistan Super League, Lahore Qalandars defeated Quetta Gladiators by 79 runs.

Batting first in the match played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Lahore Qalandars scored 219 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.

Quetta Gladiators could not get a good start in pursuit of the target and wickets continued to fall intermittently, the entire team returned to the pavilion for 140 runs in 16.2 overs.

In the first match of this season, both the openers who gave Peshawar Zalmi an aggressive start proved unsuccessful against Lahore Qalandars, captain Saud Shakeel and Finn Allen returned to the pavilion without opening an account.

Hassan Nawaz also proved to be a guest of only one run while Kushal Mendis played an innings of 28 runs, Riley Rossow showed some resistance but he also lost courage on 44 runs.

Shoaib Malik was dismissed for 14, Aqeel Hussain 13, Faheem Ashraf 21, Muhammad Amir one, Abrar Ahmed 6 runs.

For Lahore Qalandars, Rashad Hussain took 3 wickets, Shaheen Afridi, Asif Afridi, Sikandar Raza took 2 wickets each.

Quetta Gladiators captain Saud Shakeel won the toss and invited Lahore Qalandars to bat first.

Muhammad Naeem, who opened the innings with Fakhar Zaman for Lahore Qalandars, proved to be a guest of only 10 runs, however Abdullah Shafiq was dismissed after playing an aggressive innings of 37 runs.

Fakhar Zaman completed his half-century, he was dismissed for 67 runs off 39 balls, which included 3 sixes and 7 fours, Daryl Mitchell was dismissed for 37, Sikandar Raza for 6 and captain Shaheen Afridi for 3 runs.

Lahore Qalandars wicketkeeper-batsman Sam Billings played an aggressive game in the last moments to stabilize the team’s total, he scored 50 runs off 19 balls and was not out.

For Quetta Gladiators, Aqeel Hussain and Abrar Ahmed took 2 wickets each, while Faheem Ashraf and Usman Tariq took one wicket each.

It should be noted that Quetta Gladiators defeated Peshawar Zalmi by 80 runs in their first match, while Lahore Qalandars were defeated by Islamabad United.
