Women’s World Cup Qualifier: Pakistan defeats West Indies by 65 runs,

Pakistan women’s cricket team defeated West Indies by 65 runs in the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier ODI match. In the match played at Gaddafi Stadium, Pakistan won the toss and batted first and set a target of 192 runs, but the West Indian team lost courage at 126 runs.
The West Indian team did not start well in pursuit of the target. West Indies suffered a loss in the form of the wicket of opening batsman and captain Hayley Mathews on the very first ball of the innings. Hayley Mathews was caught LBW by Pakistani captain Fatima Sana.
The measured bowling of Pakistani bowlers did not give the West Indies batsmen a chance to play openly and score runs. Shameena Campbell was run out and returned to the pavilion on a total score of 15 runs,
and then West Indies wickets kept falling at intervals. Zaida James scored four, Shameena Campbell 14, Janella Glasgow 18, Chenille Henry scored 14 runs, Shabika 21 runs, Stephanie Taylor 17 runs, Alia Elaine 22,
Effie Feature 2 runs, Ashmini returned to the pavilion for zero while Karisma remained not out on 7 runs. West Indies’ innings was reduced to 126 runs in 39.2 overs and they had to face a defeat by 65 runs. For Pakistan,
captain Fatima Sana took 3 wickets, Ramin Shamim and Nashreh Sindhu took 2 wickets each, while Sadia Iqbal took one wicket. Earlier, Pakistani captain Fatima Sana won the toss and decided to bat.
Gul Feroze was the first batter to be dismissed, falling victim to West Indian captain Hayley Mathews for a total score of just 6, scoring only 2 runs.
Opener Muniba Ali was bowled LBW by Fletcher, who scored 33 runs, Alia Riaz was run out on a total score of 97 runs and returned to the pavilion, scoring 20 runs.
The next batter to be dismissed was Umaima Sohail, who made 16 and became Fletcher’s victim, bowling Sidra Amin on a total score of 139, Sidra scored the highest score of 54 runs for the Pakistani team.
Captain Fatima Sana scored 15 and Sidra Nawaz scored 23 runs, Ramin Shamim scored 2, Diana Baig scored 9 runs, Sadia Iqbal was out for zero while Nashreh Sindhu remained not out on 7 runs.
The Pakistani team scored a total of 191 runs on the scoreboard in 49.5 overs, including 10 runs from wides and byes.
For West Indies, captain Hayley Mathews, Karisma and Effie Fletcher took 2 wickets each, while Ashmani Munesar and Aaliya took one wicket each. Sidra Amin was declared the Player of the Match for scoring a half-century.
