TASHKENT: In a heartfelt gesture of national pride and diplomatic support, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Mr. Ahmed Farooq, warmly welcomed the Pakistani SAMBO Sports team currently participating in the prestigious Asia and Oceania SAMBO Championship 2025 in Tashkent.
The delegation, headed by Khurshid Khan, Senior Vice President of the Pakistan SAMBO Federation and team manager, met the ambassador on his special invitation. During the meeting,
Khurshid Khan thanked Ambassador Farooq for his hospitality and shed light on the team’s experience in the championship, the importance of international exposure, and the pride of representing Pakistan on a global stage.
Ambassador Farooq praised the athletes for their commitment and conveyed that Uzbekistan offers tremendous opportunities for Pakistani investors and entrepreneurs. He assured the delegation that the Embassy stands ready to provide full support to those exploring trade and business ventures in the region.
To honor the visiting delegation, Ambassador Farooq presented a traditional Uzbek souvenir to Khurshid Khan, who received it as a symbol of brotherhood and goodwill from the people of Uzbekistan to the Pakistani nation.
Also present during the cordial exchange were media advisor Liaqat Yousafzai and members of the SAMBO team, who expressed their gratitude for the encouragement and warmth extended by the ambassador.
