International Handball Women’s Central Asia Trophy begins in Faisalabad
Government College University Faisalabad Hosts the IHF Central AsiaHandball Women Trophy 2025
An international handball event featuring the U-17 and U-19 women’s teams from Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Mongolia, and Pakistan.
The grand ceremony was graced by the Chairman Higher Education Commission of Pakistan Dr Mukhtar Ahmad, while the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Rauf-I-Azam was present as the guest of honor.

Reactor The University of Faisalabad Prof Dr Aman Ullah Malik, Director Sports Higher Education Commission Javid Ali Memon and officials from the Pakistan Handball Federation, and national and international sports personalities.
Dr. Rauf-I-Azam, Vice Chancellor of GCUF, extended a heartfelt welcome to all the international athletes, officials, and guests. The event commenced with a March past and National Anthem.
At this occasion Chairman HEC Dr Mukhtar Ahmad emphasized the significance of sports in youth development. “Sports are not merely games—they are essential for character building, leadership, discipline, and teamwork,” he said.
In his welcome address, Prof. Dr. Rauf-I-Azam reaffirmed the university’s holistic vision for student development.
In his address, he highlighted the university’s unwavering commitment to promoting youth development,
international engagement, and sports excellence. He shared how GCUF continues to lead the way in hosting international events that foster peace, friendship, and cross-cultural exchange.
The Central Asia Women’s Handball Trophy will continue with high energy and competitive spirit until April 26, 2025.
