HEC Celebrates Muhammad Azab’s Selection in Lahore Qalandars Squad for PSL X
Islamabad, May 1, 2025: Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan, proudly celebrates remarkable selection of Mr. Muhammad Azab by Lahore Qalandars for the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL X).
Muammad Azab’s inclusion in country’s prestigious cricket franchises is a testament to the success of HEC’s structured sports development initiatives at the university level.
Left-arm medium pace bowler, Muhammad Azab has represented HEC in multiple domestic Grade-I tournaments, including the President’s Trophy Grade-I and the President’s Cup Grade-I. His rise from university competitions to representing HEC in Grade-I to joining Lahore Qalandars for PSL X underlines the importance of universities acting as nurseries for talented players.
His selection is not only a personal achievement but also a proud moment for HEC and academic fraternity, said Mr. Javed Ali Memon, Incharge, Sports & Co-curricular Activities Division, HEC. He said that this success would not have been possible without support of HEC management and university leadership, through quality training, academic flexibility, and institutional encouragement.
HEC through Pakistan University Sports Board (PUSB) regularly organizes inter-varsity championships and training camps to prepare students for professional sports careers.
HEC and Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) are also executing a nationwide talent hunt project, aimed at identifying raw talent in various sports including Cricket.
