Janbaaz Boxing Club wins Colgate Paul Move Cup Boxing Tournament
Karachi ; Pakistan Olympic Association Women’s Commission Secretary Ms. Veena Masood has said that I am very impressed by the excellent performance of women boxers and I pay tribute to them that the skill with which they are participating in a difficult sport like boxing is commendable.
She was speaking as the chief guest at the one-day Karachi Women’s Boxing Tournament organized by Karachi City Boxing Association in collaboration with Colgate Paul Move at Ustad Ali Muhammad Qambrani Boxing Arena, Kukri Sports Complex, Lyari, while distributing prizes among the boxers.
She said that the day is not far when our women boxers will make the name of the country and nation famous in the world. On this occasion, Sindh Boxing President Muhammad Asghar Baloch, Sindh Swimming’s Nargis Rehmatullah, international boxers Mehreen Baloch, Maria Rind, Sarah Maling, national boxers Gul Jan and Aqsa were present.
The duties of referee judges were performed by Abdul Waheed Darwish, Rustam Baloch, Gulzar Khan, Jamil Khan, Murad Bakhsh, Abdul Rashid and Samia Rafique. Earlier, Secretary Karachi Boxing Abdul Razzaq Baloch thanked the guests and informed them about the details of the program.
Janbaz Boxing Club won the first position by winning 3 golds, while Keamari Boxing Club won the second position with 2 golds. In the one-day competition, 35 boxers participated in different classes.
The final results are as follows: Laiba (Janbaz Club) defeated Lal Bibi (Muslim Azad) 3-0, in 36 kg, Fiza (Janbaz Club) defeated Hureen (Young Lyari) 2-1, in 38 kg, Ayesha (Kemari Club) defeated Zainab (Malir) 3-0, in 40 kg,
Aqsa (Janbaz Club) defeated Mehak (Muslim Azad Club) 3-0, in 42 kg, Quratul Ain (Lyari Labor Club) defeated Maruti (Malir Club) 3-0, in 44 kg, Hania (Kemari Club) defeated Tareen (Lyari Club) 3-0, in 51 kg,
Salwa (Sindh Muslim) defeated Sana (Muslim Azad) 3-0, in 52 kg, Shehla (Maripur Club) defeated Zainab Qambrani (Muslim Azad) In the 54 kg category, Rizwana (Maliir Club) defeated Afshina (Sindh Muslim) 3-0. A large number of boxing fans were present on the occasion.
