LAHORE: The DHA Lahore Punjab Juniors/Seniors Tennis Championship 2025 witnessed a thrilling day of action-packed matches as top contenders in the men’s singles, junior, and senior doubles categories fought hard to secure their spots in the next rounds at DHA Sports Complex Sector G Phase 5, DHA Lahore.
In the men’s singles pre-quarterfinals, several standout performances lit up the courts. Hadi Hussain dominated Hamza Arshad with a flawless 6-0 victory, while Mohid Saddan upset top seed Haroon Zahid with an impressive 6-3 win.
Taha also advanced by defeating Abdullah Haroon 6-3, and Sherhan Salim battled through a close encounter to edge past Talha Saleem 7-5 in one of the day’s most competitive matches.
Rai Asim Zafar overcame Asad Farooq 6-4 in a contest marked by long rallies and tactical play. Musa Haroon eased past Waleed Nasir 6-2, while Ahmad Bin Aamir continued his fine form with a commanding 6-0 victory over Hadi Babar. The round concluded with Ashar Khan securing a dominant 6-0 win against M Diean, sealing the quarterfinal lineup.
In the boys’ U-18 quarterfinal, rising star Asad Zaman displayed superior shot-making to defeat M Ayan Khan 6-2. The boys’ U-14 category saw Ohad-e-Mustafa breeze past Daniyal Afzal Malik 6-0, while Muhammad Muaz mirrored that result against Zayd Mansoor.
Muaz also featured in the U-12 quarterfinals, where he triumphed over Zahran Zeeshan 6-0. Mustafa Uzair Rana posted an identical 6-0 scoreline over Dainyal Afzal Malik, and Muhammad Ayan dispatched Daniyal Abdullah 6-1.
The girls’ U-12 quarterfinals were equally competitive, with Khadija Khalil overpowering Shahreen Umer 6-0. Shahnoor Umer won a hard-fought match against Wajeeha Fatima 6-3, while Aimen Rehan advanced with a convincing 6-0 win over Elisa Zaighum. In the boys/girls U-10 division, Dainyal Abdullah blanked Shahnoor Umer 6-0, and M Ehsan Bari cruised past Wajeeha Fatima 6-1.
Meanwhile, in the seniors 45-plus doubles, Waheed Ch and Kamran Qureshi edged out Dr Arif and Arif Feroze 9-7 in a nail-biting finish, while Hadi Hussain and Ashar Khan dominated Muhammad Ilyas and Shahzad Ahmad with an 8-0 shutout. In earlier pre-quarterfinals,
Saleem Khan and Ch Ameer Siddiqui routed Kashif Ansari and Seerat Hazir 8-0. Shahzad Maken and Ali Malhi outplayed Sajid Bukhari and Ch Khalil 8-1, while Dr Arif and Arif Feroze had earlier secured their spot by defeating Saqib Malik and Shahid Ahmad 8-2.
