Pakistan Outshines India on the Mat – Bano Kosar Wins Gold at Asian Ju-Jitsu Championship 2025

Amman, Jordan – May 25, 2025: Team Pakistan delivered an outstanding performance at the ongoing Asian Ju-Jitsu Championship 2025 in Amman, Jordan, defeating several top competitors — including arch-rival India — with remarkable skill and determination.

On Day 3 of the championship, Pakistan’s Bano Kosar clinched the Gold Medal in the Women’s 48kg Contact Ju-Jitsu category by defeating India’s Richa Sharma in a thrilling final bout. This powerful victory not only brought pride to Pakistan but also sent a strong message across the region.

Earlier, on Day 1, M. Ali Rashid and M. Yousuf Ali secured a bronze medal in the Duo Men category, while Isra Waseem and Kainat Arif won a bronze medal in the Duo Women category — capping off a successful start for Pakistan in the tournament.

Mr. Khalil Ahmed Khan, Chairman of the Pakistan Ju-Jitsu Federation, praised the team’s success, saying:
“These aren’t just medals — they’re proof that Pakistani athletes are world-class. We are extremely proud of our team. The credit goes to the coaches, athletes, and the entire support staff who worked tirelessly to make this possible.”

Mr. Tariq Ali, Secretary General of both the South Asian Regional Ju-Jitsu Association and the Pakistan Ju-Jitsu Federation, represented Pakistan at the official closing ceremony and stated:

“These victories mark a significant milestone in the growth of Ju-Jitsu in South Asia, especially in Pakistan. The passion and courage displayed by our female and youth athletes are truly inspiring and commendable.”

The Asian Ju-Jitsu Championship continues until May 26, featuring elite fighters from across the continent. Team Pakistan remains focused and determined to bring home more medals in the days ahead.
