Pakistan Tug of War Team Wins Silver and Bronze Medals at Turan Cup in Baku, Azerbaijan
Baku, Azerbaijan – The Pakistan Tug of War team delivered an outstanding performance at the Turan Cup, held in the capital city of Azerbaijan, Baku, securing both Silver and Bronze medals.
The Pakistani team participated in two categories: Senior and Junior. In the Senior category, the team won a Silver Medal, showcasing excellent teamwork and strength. In the Junior category, the young athletes also impressed the international audience by winning the Bronze Medal.
Speaking on the occasion, Muhammad Jameel Ahmad Rana, Board Member of the Traditional Sports & Games Pakistan Association and Secretary General of the Pakistan Tug of War Federation, said:
“We provided excellent training to our athletes, and by the grace of Allah, we were blessed with medals. This is a moment of pride for the whole nation.”
The Turan Cup featured participation from 12 countries in both senior and junior categories, including:
Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Türkiye, Africa, India, Georgia, Iran, Cyprus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan.
This achievement is not only a proud moment for Pakistan but also a major step forward in the promotion of Tug of War and traditional sports in the country.
