Pakistan Sports Board Director General, Yasir Pirzada has said that restoring the lost dignity of sports is the top priority. Hosting the SAIF Games in Pakistan will be memorable. The focus is on training top athletes.
The SAIF Games will further promote sports. He expressed these views during a meeting with a delegation led by Rawalpindi Islamabad Sports Journalists Association (RASJA) President Abu Bakar Bin Talat.
Yasir Pirzada said that hosting the SAIF Games is a matter of national prestige and we are taking all possible steps to meet all international standards of infrastructure, training, and welfare of the players.
He shed light on the ongoing renovation and development works at the Pakistan Sports Complex and said that the process of upgrading is underway to provide modern facilities.
He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Rana Sanaullah, and Federal Secretary Mohiuddin Wani, special attention is being paid to the revival and promotion of sports.
In response to a question, he said that special attention is being paid to the national training camp, which is now including modern coaching, nutritional planning and psychological support. Talent search, sports facilities are also being provided to government schools and colleges.
The delegation that met with the RSAJA included Abdul Mohi Shah, Shakeel Awan, Zulfiqar Baig, Nasir Naqvi, Shakir Abbasi, Afzal Javed, Shehryar Khan, Arfa Feroz Zaki, Owais Abbasi, Asghar Ali Mubarak and Kiran Khan.
