Muaz, Ayan, Ibraheem shine in boys U-12 at BOP Junior National Tennis Championship

Lahore: The spotlight was firmly on the boys U-12 players during the second day of action at the Bank of Punjab (BoP) Junior National Tennis Championship 2025, taking place at the Punjab Tennis Academy, Bagh-e-Jinnah, Lahore, where emerging talent delivered a string of dominant performances in the pre-quarterfinals.

In the boys U-12 category, Muhammad Muaz showcased excellent form as he comfortably overcame Daniyal Afzal Malik with a 4-0, 4-2 victory. Muhammad Ayan advanced to the next round after Muhammad Azan Imran was forced to retire at 4-0. In another one-sided encounter, M Ibraheem Hussain Gill outclassed M Mamnoon Bari 4-0, 4-0, while Ibrahim Talha defeated Ashtar Alam Khan with a clinical 4-1, 4-1 performance.

Strong performances also continued in the boys U-14 division, where Muhammad Muaz impressed again by defeating Ahmad Fareed Yawar 4-0, 4-2. Ohad-e-Mustafa dominated Zayd Mansoor 4-1, 4-1, while Muhammad Junaid dispatched Muhammad Arsh Imran 4-0, 4-1. Abdur Rehman got past Omer Zaman 4-0, 4-0, and Zayd Zaman blanked Muhammad Samied by the same score. In the final U-14 match, M Ibraheem Hussain Gill added another win to his name by beating Aliyan Ali 4-2, 4-1.

In the premier junior category, boys U-18, the tournament favorites cruised through their respective matches. Abu Bakar Talha delivered a commanding performance to beat Faizan Haider 6-0, 6-0. Asad Zaman continued his strong run, defeating Aalay Hussain 6-0, 6-2. Omer Jawad battled past a resilient Abdur Rehman 6-1, 7-5, while Muhammad Yahya prevailed over Ohad-e-Mustafa in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4.

In the girls U-12 category, Aimen Rehan was ruthless in her approach, not allowing Anaya Khan a single game as she wrapped up a 4-0, 4-0 win. Similarly, Shahnoor Umer brushed aside Aimal Tariq with an identical 4-0, 4-0 scoreline, displaying her skill and composure.
