Women’s Squash Clinic held at Roshan Khan Jahangir Khan Complex to promote female participation

KARACHI: A Women’s Squash Clinic was successfully organised at the Roshan Khan Jahangir Khan Squash Complex, with support from the Ahmar Abbas family, aiming to enhance women’s participation in national squash and strengthen their presence within the squash community.

Speaking on the occasion, Coach Naveed Alam emphasised the importance of such initiatives, saying that the clinic provided a valuable opportunity to involve more women in squash and motivate them to actively participate in the sport. He also highlighted the need for continued support from families like Ahmar Abbas’s to ensure the regular organisation of women’s squash camps, clinics, and workshops.

Muhammad Afzal, Assistant Manager of Roshan Khan Jahangir Khan Squash Complex, reiterated their commitment to empowering women in squash. “We are playing our part in creating opportunities for female players, and soon we will witness the emergence of new talent in women’s squash,” he said.

Renowned sports anchor Asif Khan underlined the level of dedication and hard work required to produce champions like Jahangir Khan, while senior sports journalist Zubair Nazir Khan stressed the need for more initiatives like this to secure and support the future of squash in Pakistan.

Earlier, Coach Naveed Alam conducted an awareness and training session for female student/athletes from various educational institutions. At the conclusion of the clinic, certificates were distributed among the participants. The clinic also saw participation from national-level women players and sports teachers.
