A Strong Message to the Sports Fraternity

Sports today demand a complete reframing in the light of moderation, good governance, accountability, and above all transparency. The next generation is more innovative and well-informed; they must be given opportunities under the supervision of experienced seniors.
This balance will allow them to flourish, while also drawing from the glories and lessons of the past to meet the challenges of the modern world.
But when arrogance blinds judgment — when a fool considers a genius to be foolish, when nepotism and favoritism dominate the selection of athletes,
and when relatives and friends are imposed for governance — frustration takes root and talent dies. And when feudal lords, dictators, or self-serving politicians hijack sports organizations, they crash the plane of sports and destroy its integrity.
It is time for us to respect each other, listen with open hearts, accept mistakes, love and embrace diversity, and build unity that reflects the Olympic spirit:
“Stronger – Together.”
Islam guides us toward the same values. The Qur’an reminds us:
> “Indeed, Allah commands you to render trusts to whom they are due and when you judge between people to judge with justice.”
(Surah An-Nisa 4:58)
Let us rise above favoritism, ego, and corruption — and work together in justice, humility, and love for the revival and integrity of sports.
