PBF, a habitual notorious for underground election.
ISLAMABAD : Sports link report ; Pakistan Badminton Federation (PBF) is the one of those disrepute sports federation in Pakistan who are familiar with the customized elections all the time since long and they did repeat this evil practice on 24th October 2025 under the shade of Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) conducting it’s next four years term election 2025-28 at Pakistan Olympic House, Lahore.
In this regard PBF clearly violated the instructions of national sports policy framed by the Pakistan Sports Board who is the government authority to control the national sports federations. No scrutiny of the clubs were carried out to select the genuine district badminton bodies all over the country.
No proper announcement was executed as per rule. Only like-minded people were gathered to accomplish the unethical electoral process. Sources informed that the real representatives from several districts were united to get rid of the so-called badminton federation this time.
The President PBF Wajid Ali Chaudhry was well aware about his weak position and was afraid to carry out fair elections. Although the ex-president of POA Lt. General (R) Arif Hassan has gone but the filthy residue is still there to support compatible forged sports federations for their hidden benefits.
Further it is pity that Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) said that PBF did not invite them to attend the election meeting while PBF is bound to abide by the rules of PSB.
This poor pathetic statement of PSB authorities raised many question on the authenticity of this supreme institution to control national federations while the PBF frequently disobeying the national sports policy. Then who will tie the bell to the cat?
The immoral act of Pakistan Badminton Federation about customary secret elections has destroyed the identity of the country on the glob because this fake badminton federation never supported the real emerging talent of Pakistan and only the favorite players get international tickets who are unable to perform at international.
Currently PBF has very poor shameful record at international and most of the time the first match of the Pakistani players (male / female) always proved their last match at overseas.
Ministry IPC must intervene strictly about such bogus elections to announce new dates for a fair transparent election for the good name of the country.
