The 23rd Annual General Meeting of World Blind Cricket Ltd was held on January 29, 2022. WBC due to the Pandemic of COVID-19, conducted it virtually through video link.
Syed Sultan Shah the President of World Blind Cricket Ltd presided over the meeting and the representatives from 10 full member countries comprising Australia, England, New Zealand, West Indies, South Africa, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal attended it.
Following important decisions were taken in the Meeting:
- World Blind Cricket Ltd has awarded the hosting rights of T-20 World Cup Cricket of the Blind to India. The 3rd edition of this format will take place in the month of November 2022 in multi cities across India.
- World Blind Cricket Ltd is agreed to participate in the World Blind Games to be organized by International Blind Sports Association (IBSA) from 18th to 27th of August 2023 at Birmingham, United Kingdom. Cricket for the Blind Cricket is added for the first time in World Blind games. Pakistan Blind Cricket Team will participate in it.
- The Triangular Series comprising Pakistan, India and New Zealand will be held in U.A.E from 13th to 19th March 2022.
Several prospects of the promotion of Blind Cricket across the Globe, possible challenges and the way forward to provide equal opportunities to blind Cricketers were discussed at the Annual General meeting.
