Islamabad: Pakistan football team lost for the third time in a row in the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers round two match.
In the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers 2 match played at the Jinnah Stadium of Islamabad Sports Complex, Jordan defeated Pakistan by three goals to zero.
The first goal of the match was scored by Musa Altemari in the second minute. The second goal was scored by Ali Alwan on a penalty kick in the ninth minute. In the second half, Jordan’s Musa al-Timari scored the third goal in the eighty-sixth minute while Pakistan continued to fail to score. Jordan got two penalty kicks in the match, Pakistani goalkeeper Yusuf Ijaz Butt saved several goals.
Pakistan has lost its third match in a row in the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. Pakistan also faced defeat against Saudi Arabia and Tajikistan. At the beginning of the match, a minute’s silence was observed on the death of U-19 player Farhan Khan.
The second match between Pakistan and Jordan is scheduled on March 26 in Jordan.
The Jordanian team was playing on the soil of Pakistan after 18 years. Earlier, the Jordanian team visited Pakistan in 2006.
