Pakistani athlete Khurram Khan creates history in Ironman World Championship

Islamabad: Pakistani athlete Khurram Khan created history in the Ironman 70.3 World Championship held in the city of Taipo, New Zealand.
The Pakistani athlete qualified for the event on his own, the championship included a 1.9-kilometer swim, a 90-kilometer bike ride and a 21.1-kilometer run.
Khurram Khan completed the entire circuit in 5 hours, 32 minutes and 52 seconds. 6,000 athletes from 119 countries participated in the triathlon-style event, and the 41-year-old Khurram Khan from Karachi was the only Pakistani to hoist the green crescent flag in the championship.

On this occasion,
Khurram Khan said that it is an honor to hoist the Pakistani flag for the first time in the Ironman World Championship. It took months of hard work to qualify for the mega event.
Khurram Khan said that being the only Pakistani athlete, I received a lot of recognition and I will represent Pakistan in future international competitions as well.
