Quaid-e-Azam Games, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa athletics players perform brilliantly

In the Quaid-e-Azam Inter-Provincial Games, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa athletics players displayed excellent performance and won 18 medals including six gold, five silver and seven bronze to secure first position in the men’s event. In the athletics male category held in Islamabad,
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa won five gold, three silver and four bronze medals, while in the women’s category, KP won one gold, two silver and three bronze medals, winning a total of 18 medals, not only ranking first in the Quaid-e-Azam Games, but also winning the most medals from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The credit goes to their coaches Abid Afridi, Syed Jafar Shah, Sohail, Adnan and female coach Fatima, who selected the best team for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa team through transparent trials.
They were trained for a week under the supervision of qualified coaches, thanks to which Khyber Pakhtunkhwa performed brilliantly and won a total of six gold, five silver and seven bronze medals.
On this occasion, Athletics Coach Abid Afridi, Administrator of Hayatabad Sports Complex, said that the athletes of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have always brought glory to the province and the country.
He said that despite the lack of a tartan track at the Qayyum Sports Complex, KP players showed good sportsmanship and hoped that the players of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would participate in the National Games with the same passion and dedication.
He said that the players of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa demonstrated high standards of sportsmanship, dedication, determination and enthusiasm throughout the tournament, which is the hallmark of any good player.
According to the results, Farman Ali of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa won the long jump, Wasiullah won the discus throw, Bilal won the javelin throw, Attaullah won the 400 meter race and the team event 4×400 relay gold medals.
Attaullah won the 100 meter race, Usama Khalid won the 200 meter race, Hamad Khan won the silver medal in the long jump, while he won bronze medals in the high jump, 110 meter hurdles,
1500 meter and 400 meter races, while Aiman Shahzad won the gold medal in the javelin throw in the women’s category. Manahel won silver in the discus throw,
Rehab Ali won silver in the 100-meter hurdles, Aiman won bronze in the discus throw, Rashida won bronze in the long jump, and 4×100-meter team event.
