Sialkot Stallionz owner Hamza Majeed refutes rumors of team sale and bankruptcy
By Nawaz Gohar ; Hamza Majeed, the owner of the Sialkot Stallions, has strongly denied reports claiming the team is being sold. In an official statement, he clarified that his business is not bankrupt and that all financial obligations with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for the first year have been met.
Hamza Majeed held a press conference where he stated, “A negative campaign is being run against the Sialkot Stallions. We have fulfilled all financial agreements with the PCB; you can verify this with the Board itself.
Discussions regarding a new partnership with CD Ventures will only commence after formal approval from the PCB.” He further clarified that ownership rights in any such partnership would be held on an equal basis.
Earlier, Majeed had issued a statement on social media, asserting, “I am the owner of Sialkot Stallions. Kamil Khan was with us solely because of his prior work and insight into the sport of cricket.”
Addressing rumors regarding his business, OZ Group, he said, “Fake news regarding our business going bankrupt was spread. We will take legal action against those responsible. We have not sold our shares to anyone. While we are in talks with various parties, any deal is subject to PCB approval, and a press conference will be held soon. We have already paid 100% of the PCB fees.”
He also shared updates regarding the team’s management: “We are in discussions with Wasim Akram and will make an announcement soon. Our team and coaches remain the same. We have appointed Rana Naved-ul-Hasan as the bowling coach and Sohaib Maqsood as the batting coach.”
