ICC Releases Annual T20I Team Rankings: India and Australia Maintain Top Spots

By Nawaz Gohar ;  The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released its annual T20I team rankings, with the latest update revealing shifts in the men’s standings while the women’s top 10 remain unchanged.

The rankings update sees stability among the top seven teams, with India, the reigning world champions, firmly retaining the number one position, despite a minor deduction of one rating point.

The order of the top seven remains consistent:
1. India
2. England
3. Australia
4. New Zealand
5. South Africa
6. Pakistan
7. West Indies

Significant movement occurred just outside the top seven. Sri Lanka has dropped from eighth to ninth place following a six-point decrease in their rating. Conversely, Bangladesh has moved up to the eighth position after gaining one point. Afghanistan, Zimbabwe, and Ireland continue to hold the tenth, eleventh, and twelfth positions, respectively.

In the women’s annual T20I team rankings, there were no changes within the top 10 positions, reflecting a period of consistent performance from the leading nations. Australia maintains its dominance at the number one spot, followed by England (2nd), India (3rd), New Zealand (4th), and South Africa (5th).

The West Indies, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan remain firmly positioned in sixth, seventh, and eighth places, respectively.
