Credible insiders have confirmed that the captain’s visa case remains pending and is actively undergoing standard legal processing. Although an initial administrative query was raised regarding his application on June 18, 2026—during which time visas for the rest of the squad were successfully issued—the British authorities have neither closed nor rejected his case.

According to the latest updates, British visa authorities dispatched a formal email on June 20, 2026, regarding the specific case (Reference: GWF088642969). In the correspondence, the authorities requested further clarifications and sought to schedule a telephonic interview to review the matter.

Sources stated that the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) and relevant diplomatic channels are proactively assembling and dispatching the required documentation and detailed explanations to the British High Commission to resolve the query swiftly.

Officials have explicitly clarified that requesting additional information or procedural verifications is a standard diplomatic practice and a routine legal protocol in international visa processing.

The federation strongly condemned the negative propaganda circulating on social media platforms, labeling it a malicious attempt to sabotage Pakistani hockey and damage the reputation of the national sport. LAHORE (July 4, 2022): Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi led an anti-dengue awareness walk from National Hockey Stadium to Gaddafi Stadium on Saturday.

Director Sports Nadeem Qaiser, Director Youth Affairs Syed Umair Hasan, Deputy Director Tariq Wattoo, Deputy Director Chand Perveen, Deputy Director Rauf Bajwa, DSO Tanveer Shah, Chief Sports Consultant Hafeez Bhatti, Assistant Director Zahoor Ahmed, NPSC Gymnasium Hall administrator Mustfa Shah, Incharge Media Cell Abdul Rauf, Fiaz Ali and hundreds of other employees of Sports Board Punjab and Directorate General of Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab participated in the anti-dengue awareness walk.

Talking to media, Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi said the basic purpose of this walk is to spread awareness among SBP employees and general public to adopt safety measures against the fatal dengue mosquito. “It is a major issue and we can eradicate this virus through collective efforts”.

Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi informed that Sports Board Punjab has arranged anti-dengue awareness walks in all divisional, district and tehsil sports offices as per directions of Punjab government.

Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi termed the dengue mosquito a fatal weapon against human health and appealed to the people not to allow stagnant rainy water near their houses, offices and suburbs. “Government is taking every possible measure for the eradication of dengue virus but we could not achieve our goal without the full cooperation of the general public,” they stressed.
