Lahore, 2 September 2022:

The Governing Council of the HBL Pakistan Super League met at the National High Performance Centre in Lahore today. All six HBL PSL franchises were represented along with PCB officials who are members of the GC. Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board Ramiz Raja chaired the meeting.

The meeting started with the Chairman PCB congratulating the GC on a hugely successful and record-breaking HBL PSL 7 edition which was the first one ever to be staged in Pakistan uninterrupted since the start of the league in 2016. The successful organisation of the tournament was made possible despite significant external challenges and record revenue and viewership was attained through the two action-packed leagues in Karachi and Lahore.

Some important discussions around the scheduling for the next edition of the HBL PSL were made. It was decided that the HBL PSL 8 will run from 9 February to 19 March 2023. At least four venues will be used for hosting the matches, including Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi and Multan. Further discussions for firming up the detailed schedule will take place between the franchises and the PCB in due course.

The franchises were also given an update on the status of accounts for HBL PSL 7.

During the GC an update was provided in respect of commercial matters related to HBL PSL 7 and HBL PSL 8. Follow-up meetings will commence next week to finalise plans for HBL PSL 8 with all in agreement to work closely in the build-up to HBL PSL 8 to achieve their common goals for the league.

Batting coach Mohammad Yousuf held an online press conference after the fourth day’s play in the third and final Benaud-Qadir Trophy, ICC World Test Championship match at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore against Australia today (Thursday).

At stumps on day-four, Pakistan were 73 for no loss in their second innings and need another 278 runs on the final day to win the Test and the series.

Australia earlier declared their second innings at 227 for three setting Pakistan a 351-run target.

Azhar Ali held an online press conference after the third day’s play in the third and final Benaud-Qadir Trophy, ICC World Test Championship match at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore against Australia today (Wednesday).

At stumps on day-three, Australia were 11 for no loss in their second innings.

Pakistan were earlier bowled out for 268 in their first innings with Azhar crossing the 7000-run landmark in Test cricket during his 78-run innings

Fast bowler Naseem Shah held an online press conference after the first day’s play in the third and final Benaud-Qadir Trophy, ICC World Test Championship match against Australia which began at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore today (Monday).

At stumps on day-one, Australia had reached 232 for five in their first innings, Naseem Shah and Shaheen Shah Afridi took two wickets each for Pakistan.

Pakistan captain Babar Azam held an online press conference ahead of the third and final Benaud-Qadir Trophy, ICC World Test Championship match against Australia which begins at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore from tomorrow (Monday).

The three-match series is presently tied at 0-0.

Left-arm-spinner Nauman Ali held a virtual media conference at the end of day-four of the Benaud-Qadir Trophy ICC World Test Championship match against Australia at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Australia had reached 449 for seven at stumps on a day curtailed to two sessions due to a wet outfield following overnight rain which resulted in no play in the opening session.

Nauman took four wickets for 107 runs. Pakistan had earlier declared their first innings at 476 for four.

ff-spinner Sajid Khan held a virtual media conference at the end of day-three of the Benaud-Qadir Trophy ICC World Test Championship match against Australia at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Australia were 271 for 2 in their first innings at close of play on day-three in reply to Pakistan’s first innings total of 476 for four (declared).
