Egypt’s Zeina Zein grabs K2 Squash PSA Women’s Challenger 6K Championship title

Lahore: The K2 Squash PSA Women’s Challenger 6K Championship 2026, presented by One World Squash, concluded successfully at K2 Squash Club with an exciting final and a memorable closing ceremony. The event marked the club’s first-ever women’s international squash championship and its second international tournament overall.

In the final, top seed Zeina Zein (EGY) delivered a strong performance to defeat 3rd seed Lucie Stefanoni (USA) 3–1, securing the championship title. Zein controlled the match with confidence, winning 11–9, 11–7, 8–11, 11–3 in 34 minutes.

With this victory, Zeina Zein was crowned champion and received a prize of $1,140, while runner-up Lucie Stefanoni earned $720 for her excellent performance throughout the tournament.

The closing ceremony was held in the presence of Mr. Karamat Ullah Khan, Founder of One World Squash, along with Tournament Director Muhammad Naveed Alam, who distributed trophies to the winner and runner-up.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mr. Karamat Ullah Khan stated: “Our aim is to promote squash in the United States. I would like to thank all sponsors, US Squash, PSA, the PSA media team, and all participating players for their support.

“I would also like to give special thanks to Tournament Director Muhammad Naveed Alam, who worked extremely hard to make this event a success. His international experience was clearly reflected in the organization of this championship. We look forward to hosting this tournament again next year with increased prize money,” he added.

Tournament Director Muhammad Naveed Alam also expressed his appreciation: “We are proud to have successfully delivered our first women’s international championship. The level of competition was excellent, and we are thankful to everyone who contributed to making this event a success.”

The championship concluded on a high note, showcasing top-level international squash and further strengthening the development of the sport in the United States. The success of this event sets a strong foundation for even bigger tournaments in the future.

LAHORE: K2 Squash has successfully staged the 3rd edition of the K2 Squash PSA Satellite Series, presented by One World Squash, bringing an exciting week of high-quality squash to a memorable close at the K2 Squash Club, Camden, USA.

The tournament attracted a strong field of emerging international players, providing a vital platform for lower-ranked professionals to gain valuable match experience and improve their PSA world rankings. The event once again highlighted K2 Squash’s growing reputation as a hub for competitive squash.

In a gripping final, seventh seed Youssef Bastawy of Egypt delivered an outstanding performance to defeat top seed Luhann Groenewald of South Africa 3-1 in just 39 minutes. Bastawy showcased exceptional composure, tactical awareness, and shot-making ability to secure a well-deserved victory.

Speaking on the occasion, Founder of One World Squash, Karamatullah Khan, reiterated the organisation’s commitment to promoting squash across the United States through PSA Satellite events. He emphasised the importance of such tournaments in providing emerging players with opportunities to develop and climb the global rankings.
