Pakistan Federation Baseball will hold Baseball Exhibition Matches during the Shandur Festival next year.

Sheikh Mazhar Ahmad Secretary General PFB while talking with media said that Syed Fakhar Ali Shah President of the federation met Director General of Gilgit-Baltistan Sports Mr. Hussain Ali. During the meeting, development and promotion of baseball in the area was discussed. It may be recalled that Pakistan Federation Baseball had recently organized exhibition matches of baseball in Gilgit and Skardu. Syed Fakhar Ali Shah thanked the Director General of Sports for his cooperation in organizing the matches successfully and for the facilities provided in this regard.

Syed Fakhar Ali Shah said that the successful organization of baseball exhibition matches in Gilgit and Skardu has raised our spirits and now we will organize men’s and women’s baseball exhibition matches during the Shandur Festival in July next year. Players of Pakistan’s Men’s and Women’s National Baseball Teams will take part in it. We want to hold these matches in collaboration with the Gilgit-Baltistan government. People belonging to the baseball family will be invited during the matches and we will try to invite the presidents of the World Baseball Softball Confederation and the Baseball Federation of Asia. He further said that due to these exhibition matches of baseball, a soft message of Pakistan will be sent to the world and the world will come to know that Pakistan is the most beautiful country in the world in terms of tourism which will also promote tourism in the country.

Director General Sports Gilgit-Baltistan Mr. Hussain Ali said, that he is happy that for the first time a national team played matches here. As political turmoil is on the rise in the region due to the elections, baseball matches could not be given full attention. But as Syed Fakhar Ali Shah said that the federation wants to hold baseball matches here during the Shandur festival in the month of July, in this regard full cooperation will be made with the federation for the successful organization of the matches and I hope that as the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan have a vision for tourism, it will also provide a lot of support to tourism.

Sheikh Mazhar Ahmed further said that the treasurer of the federation Tahir Mahmood was also present in the meeting. At the end of the meeting, the President of the Federation Syed Fakhar Ali Shah once again thanked Mr. Hussain Ali and the Special Communications Organization (SCO) for organizing the baseball matches in Gilgit-Baltistan successfully. He also presented baseball equipment to Mr. Hussain Ali for the development of baseball in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Secretary General of the Federation Sheikh Mazhar Ahmed, Pakistan Baseball Team Captain Umair Imdad Bhatti and Pakistan Youth Baseball Team Captain Syed Ali Shah were also present.

Syed Fakhar Ali Shah, President Pakistan Federation Baseball, while talking to media said that Gilgit-Baltistan region is famous in all over the world for its tourism. Every year thousands of tourists from all over the world come here for tourism. Gilgit-Baltistan is the highest place in the world. For the first time in baseball history, the Pakistan Federation Baseball is going to hold baseball matches at this highest place in the world.
According to Syed Fakhar Ali Shah, Pakistan Federation Baseball is organizing the following activities regarding the development of baseball in Gilgit-Baltistan:
The first Gilgit-Baltistan Inter-District Baseball Championship will be held from October 29 to 30 in Skardu.
The National Baseball Academy in Skardu will be inaugurated on October 31. Pakistan Federation Baseball will provide equipment for the training of players.
An exhibition match of baseball between Pakistan Green and Pakistan White will be played on October 31 in Skardu. Players of Pakistan’s national baseball team will take part in this match.
The second baseball exhibition match between Pakistan Green and Pakistan White will be played on November 3 in Gilgit.
Pakistan Federation Baseball will organize a Baseball Coaching Course in Gilgit from November 3 to 4 under the supervision of qualified coaches for the training of Gilgit-Baltistan players and coaches. At the end of the course, participants will be given a certificate from the federation.
Syed Fakhar Ali Shah further said that Skardu is the highest place in the world and Pakistan Federation Baseball is taking a historic step by organizing baseball matches at such a height for the first time. Famous players of Pakistan National Baseball Team will take part in these competitions. He hoped that holding these events would go a long way in developing baseball in an area like Gilgit-Baltistan.
According to Syed Fakhar Ali Shah, Covid-19 has affected sports activities all over the world. So it was a very difficult task to organize a sports event after the end of this epidemic but we are thankful to Happilac Paint and Capital Smart City for their support to hold these events in a befitting manner.

The Executive Committee Meeting of Baseball Federation of Asia was held in Yilan, Taiwan on January 31, 2018. Syed Fakhar Ali Shah President Pakistan Federation Baseball was attended the meeting.

Before roll call, Mr. Tom C.H Peng Condolence the unfortunate death of Syed Khawar Shah President PFB/Director Development West Asian Region/Member at Large Baseball Federation of Asia. Every member in the meeting stands from his seat and remained silence for two minutes.

Mr. Tom C.H Peng said that Mr. Shah was a beacon for the baseball players in Pakistan and was instrumental in the development and promotion of the sport of Baseball in this region of the world. His absence will be felt for a long time to come.

After roll call, the house unanimously approved the appointment of Syed Fakhar Ali Shah as Director West Asia Baseball Federation of Asia.

The house unanimously approved that BFA U12 Asian Baseball Championship 2018 will be played in Taiwan and BFA U18 Asian Baseball Championship 2018 will be played in Japan. The dates will be announce later. The house also approved amendment in tournament rules and regulations.
